1. I will give you a series of elevations and you will ge asked to contour these points to produce a topographic map.
(You practiced this in class quite a few times, on labs and for homework)

2. I will give you a topographic map with a line drawn on it. You will be asked to construct a profile along that line. (You four practice profiles in class and several on labs)

3. Given a topographic map you must be able to:

    -Determine the contour interval
-Determine the elevation of a specific point, either on a contour line or between contour lines
-Calculate the gradient between two points (using the equation in the reference tables)
    -Determine the direction of streamflow
-Determine the latitude and longitude (in degrees and minutes) of a location, with the correct directions: ie N, S, ect
-Determine the maximum elevation possible of a mountain
-Identify areas of gentle and steep slopes

NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF PRACTICE WITH THE TASKS ABOVE. BE FOREWARNED HOWEVER:

You must be in class, pay attention, do the homework and do the labs

It is through these activities that you will master the tasks above.  Skipping even one of these things, will result in your failing this test.
